2D-3D Tests

I was having the same fear as Angie - the 2D characters may not match with the 3D backgrounds. So, since Angie decided on characters which should only have two tonal values, I tried mimicking that look in 3D. Here's the result with a simple ball in a box:

The scene has one spotlight aiming at the ball and is able to cast shadows. The outline color can be changed, so can the tonal values. I think this technique could be explored much further and probably the integration of 2D characters in this 2D-3D world could be much better handled.
